Private chef Lorin Adolph was born and raised in Chicago. He became interested in cooking in 4th grade when trips to the grocery store turned into buying cake mixes and baking at home. A deeper interest in food developed when the family he babysat for told him to enjoy the leftovers in their refrigerator. The food he enjoyed was so much tastier that what was in his parents fridge (sorry, Mom).
Upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Lorin worked for a year in Nashville then moved back to Chicago where he worked a short stint at the 95th Restaurant, which led to cooking as a personal chef for a couple every Tuesday. That led to a four year run with his own catering company doing intimate dinners in clients homes. After a year away from the kitchen working as a party planner, Lorin was frustrated with only writing menus and not cooking. He received a call from old client saying that their friends were looking for a chef in their home. That was more than 25 years ago! He has been a private chef for the same family ever since.
