Mike Coutre

Business Development Representative, Salesforce

Born and raised in the suburb of Libertyville, IL, Mike has been living in Chicago for the last two and a half years. He graduated from Miami University with a degree in Marketing and minors in Entrepreneurship and French. Then, he parlayed his experience into working at a large ad agency developing ads for a cat food company and the Patagonia clothing store in the Loop before settling in at Salesforce, where he has been for the past year and a half working on the sales team. In his free time, Mike loves to rock climb, hike, travel, play sports, go to concerts, and explore the many offerings of Chicago's food scene.

What inspired you to get involved with Green City Market?

My cousin, Jared Batson (former JB member and pizza extraordinaire at Nomad Food Company) was the first to get me involved and after that I was hooked. I'm incredibly passionate about education and environmental issues. I saw GCM as a way to marry those two passions and get involved with the local community.

What's the most delicious thing you've ever purchased from GCM?

It's a close tie between a bialy from Rachel at Our House Pizza or a canelé from Verzênay Patisserie. Big fan of tasty carbs, so if anyone has any recommendations let me know!

What's your favorite Junior Board event?
