Bridget hails from the Milwaukee suburbs and has been living in Chicago since 2014, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin. As the granddaughter of a dairy farmer, she learned the value of local, home-grown food at a young age. She believes cities are best explored by eating your way through them and that cookbooks should be read as actual books. When not at GCM, you can find Bridget trying out a new recipe, checking out the local music scene or planning her next trip.

What inspired you to get involved with GCM?

I've been a volunteer with the market since summer 2016, so I was excited to learn about the Junior Board to expand my involvement and meet people that were equally passionate about GCM and its mission. Knowing all that GCM does to increase food access in the city is really important to me, so to get to play a part in that is pretty cool!

What's the most delicious thing you've ever purchased from GCM?

Bushel & Peck's Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce is my JAM. I first discovered it at the Dane County Farmers Market in college and became so obsessed I'd order it online once I moved to Chicago. It was a big day when I discovered they were also at GCM!

What's your favorite Junior Board event?

Chef BBQ!
