John was raised by Midwesterners who loved gardening and preservation. Good food, agriculture and cooking have been with him his entire life. As a beverage professional, his approach to spirits, cocktails, wine and beer is driven by provenance and terroir, and using beverage to tell the story of people, traditions and places.
What inspired you to get involved with Green City Market?
I was a customer for many years, and worked the Chef BBQ several years. I wanted to do more to support the market's mission.
What's the most delicious thing you've ever purchased from GCM?
It's a toss up between Seedling Fruit's blackberries and the Summer Butter from Nordic Creamery spread over some breakfast radishes.
