Lucy Barnhart

Program Intern, Green City Market

Before moving to the Midwest Lucy spent her first five years living in Florida where she developed a love for nature. In the hot summer months she used to travel North to the family farm where her dad grew up in Iowa. It was during those summers that she cultivated a deep appreciation for farming and enjoyed spending time in her grandmother’s beautiful gardens.

After graduating high school in June 2016, Lucy decided to take a gap year and spend some time traveling, volunteering, working, and also a little bit of farming. Now returning back to Chicago after half a year, Lucy is eager to help with the Club Sprouts program while interning for Green City Market this spring and summer.

She plans to start college in the Fall of 2017 with a focus on Global Studies. In her free time she enjoys singing, baking, traveling, and walking her adorable puppy, Aubrey.
