In 1990, Bill Kurtis founded Kurtis Productions. Since then he has created a singluar presence on cable television as one of America's most prolific documentarians, traveling to the far ends of the earth for the Peabody Award-winning series, the New Explorers, for PBS and hosting and producing two of A&E's longest-running series, Cold Case Files and Investigative Reports.
In 2004, Bill added a new twist to his resume, providing satirical narration for the feature film comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, starring Will Ferrell. These days, Bill can also be seen on television fighting with Floyd Mayweather or traveling across the country in a sidecar in commercials for AT&T.
Mr. Kurtis is the recipient of numerous humanitarian, jounalism, and broadcasting awards including Emmys, CableACE Awards, and the Thurgood Marshall Award for his Investigative Reports installment on the death penalty. He is a published author and member of the board of directors of several distinguished organizations including The Nature Conservancy, The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, and The Field Museum of Natural History as well as the board of Green City Market.
