In 1999 Vi Daley was first elected Alderman of the 43rd Ward and retired May 2011.  She has been an active Lincoln Park resident for over 40 years including serving as Chief of Staff to former Alderman Charles Bernardini. Vi continues to work in the community.  In 2001 she founded and remains president of Chicago Sculpture Exhibit a non-profit which combines local sponsors with artists to present an annual rotating collection of large-scale sculptures placed throughout Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Portage Park, Jefferson Park, Gladstone Park, Uptown and Rogers Park. Vi is part of the Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative, serves on several committees in the Old Town Triangle and served on Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum Board, North Branch Works, Chicago Sculpture International Board and past president of the Old Town Triangle Association.
