Kathleen Gray

Marketing Manager, Frontera Ventures

Kathleen Gray is a northwest suburb native and a graduate of Loyola University Chicago where she focused on sustainability communications. Inevitably hooked on Chicago’s craft beer scene while in college, she now runs the marketing for Goose Island Brewpubs. Balancing this with her love for food, Kathleen also handles the digital media for Chef Rick’s Bayless’ gourmet food label, Frontera Foods.

What inspired you to get involved with Green City Market?

I see local food as an important gateway to teaching the community about urban agriculture and sustainability. I believe Green City Market's amazing alliance of consumers, chefs and farmers makes local food infectious.

What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever purchased from the GCM?

I look forward to enjoying Klug's Candice grapes each year -- they're incredibly aromatic and delicious! I also think there's nothing like fresh asparagus in the spring.

What’s your favorite Jr. Board event?

A (Mostly) Veggie Affair – I’m always amazed by the generosity of all the chefs and community members that help make it successful.
