Olden Produce is located on a fourth generation farm that received its centennial farm award in 2012. This 100-acre Certified Naturally Grown farm grows in harmony with nature with only 65 acres of tillable land. Olden Produce is located on a fourth generation farm that received its centennial farm award in 2012. When husband and wife Richard and Tracy Vinz took over the farm in 2006 they made a decision to return to the farm's roots in sustainable, organically growing practices. When Tracy and Richard Vinz began growing veggies it was for only one farmers market as they both worked full-time off the farm. They have since expanded to a 175 member CSA, 4 farmers markets and wholesale accounts ranging from restaurants and small local groceries, to colleges and hospitals. This has required the staff to grow as well. Joining them on their veggie adventure are 2 full-time and 8 seasonal farmers.
Olden Produce is dedicated to rebuilding soils through cover cropping and crop rotation of our vegetable production. They were awarded NRCS funding to restore wildlife habitat on the farm through the installation of a wildlife scrape. These resources will also allow them to seed a drainage way which we are incorporating grasses and wild flowers for the farm's resident honey bees. Through soil testing they have found that the work is paying off. The area has tripled in organic content of the soil!
