Chef Lorraine Orbon has been sharing her love of travel and Italian Cuisine for years. In September of 2013 she started Tuscan Hen Foods and decided to start sharing her artisan pasta and sauces at local Farmer's Markets.
Tuscan Hen pastas and sauces are made incorporating market produce as it comes in season, so there is always new pasta flavors to experience. The food produced by Tuscan Hen follows the tradition of Italian cuisine; simple preparation with fresh, quality ingredients. All the flours are organic and sourced in the Midwest.
Italian grandmas rarely buy pasta in shops for the Sunday lunch. They make it in the morning in the traditional way it was made by their mothers and grandmothers. Lorraine cranked her first sheet of fresh pasta at the side of her Italian born grandmothers at age six and has never stopped making pasta since then. After receiving her MBA from Loyola University in Chicago and working as an accountant Lorraine decided to switch gears and to turn her passion for cooking into a reality by earning an Associate Degree in Culinary and Hospitality Management in 2013 from the College of Lake County.
Lorraine's brick and mortar, Tuscan Hen Market, was opened in 2017 and you can enjoy fresh Italian sandwiches and salads as well as shopping for your favorite Green City products,
