The Farm is Coming To The City! Green City Markets Opening Days Announced!
Fresh Produce Will Be Available at Green City Markets Outdoor markets,
Chicago’s source for fresh, local fruits, veggies and prepared foods.
CHICAGO (March 26, 2018) – Green City Market’s outdoor (GCM) opening dates are fast approaching! Soon, thousands of Chicagoans will again have easy access to fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and prepared foods! GCM operates three farmers markets that give Chicagoans the opportunity to shop and taste fresh, locally-sourced produce and market-inspired prepared foods, see chef demonstrations and mingle with neighbors in support of sustainably-grown food from family farms. In addition, GCM partners with Urban Juncture Foundation on the Produce Box program, which addresses the lack of access to quality produce and limited options for healthy foods in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Each week, GCM vendors fill produce boxes with fresh fruits and vegetables and deliver them to the Produce Box, a refurbished shipping container that is part of the popular Boxville project on 51st Street, adjacent to the CTA Green Line. Bronzeville residents can obtain fresh produce and benefit from nutrition education and cooking classes.

Location: South end of Lincoln Park - N. Clark St. & N. Lincoln Ave.
Special activities: Cooking demo by Chef Paul Virant of Vie Restaurant and Vistro.
Opening Day: Saturday, June 2, 2018
Dates of operation: Saturdays, from June-October
Times: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Bartleme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St.
Park at Wrigley
Opening Day: Thursday, May 31, 2018
Dates of operation: Select Thursdays – May 31; June 7, 14, 21, 28; July 5, 12, 26; Aug 16, 30; Sept 6, 13, 20.
Times: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: The Park at Wrigley, 3637 N. Clark St., adjacent to Wrigley Field
Special activities: Cooking demo by Chef Christopher Sullivan of Ikram Café.
Club Sprouts: kids will paint using asparagus as a paint brush!

Location: Boxville, at the 51st Street CTA Green Line Stop
Market days provide abundant opportunities for all ages to learn about food, the environment, nutrition and more. Club Sprouts lets kids taste new foods and learn how they are grown. Renowned Chicago chefs give cooking demos that feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. Yoga classes, composting education and involvement in the Edible Garden all give Chicagoans an opportunity to appreciate fresh foods and learn more about sustainability and taking care of natural resources.
