Produce Box

The Produce Box is a collaborative program between Green City Market and Urban Juncture Foundation. It is an innovative, pilot program to bring fresh produce to the Bronzeville community through empowering local business.

Based on the success of Urban Juncture Foundation’s Bike Box in 2014, the Produce Box is housed in a 20 foot shipping container, alongside other local businesses in similar shipping containers, to create Boxville. Boxville is located off the 51st Street Green Line Stop.

Once a week, produce is collected from our vendors at our Lincoln Park location into a set of produce boxes and delivered to Boxville, where Bronzeville families and community members can routinely pick up fresh produce. In addition, there will be food demonstrations and programming around produce to inspire the Bronzeville community about nutrition and seasonal food.
