You know those mini plastic pots you get at the garden center to start growing seeds in? Those add up to a lot of unnecessary plastic waste each season. The zero waste alternative? Use eggshells!
Just rinse out your egg shells (making sure at least half of the shell is intact), fill each egg shell with soil, and get to planting. When you're ready to transfer the seedling into a larger pot or to a garden plot, you can pop the whole thing — egg shell and all — into the soil. The shell will naturally break down and provide the seedling with calcium, helping the plant develop strong cell walls.
