With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we've got you covered when it comes to picking the star of the show at this year's holiday dinner!
Green City Market is proud to be the first farmers' market in the country to require all of its farmers to be certified by a nationally recognized third-party agency. That means all of our meat and poultry vendors are certified by third-party agencies like the American Grassfed Association, Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Humane Raised & Handled, and more.
So if you're starting your search for the perfect whole roast turkey, look no further and check out our guide below on ordering a local, humanely-raised turkey this fall from your very own GCM vendors. WILLOWBROOK FARMS
How can orders be placed?

To reserve, a $40 deposit per bird is required (the deposit is subtracted from the total when you get your bird(s)). Final price determined by final weight. You will receive a receipt for the final charge.

Place your order by Wednesday, November 13.
Product descriptions:
Willowbrook Farms' pasture raised turkeys are the perfect centerpiece for your holiday feast. Their turkeys are raised on the farm, where they are free to roam and forage on lush pastures. They are never given antibiotics or GMO feed, ensuring that they are healthy and delicious.
Each turkey is between 9-20 lbs. Pricing and size options can be found online here.

Frozen turkeys will be available for pickup at GCM Lincoln Park on Saturday, November 23.

How can orders be placed?
Orders can be placed at the Finn’s Ranch stall at GCM Lincoln Park or GCM West Loop or online(opens in a new window) here!
To reserve, a $35 deposit per bird is required (the deposit is subtracted from the total when you get your bird(s). You will receive a receipt for the final charge.
Please request your preferred size and they will do their best to match it. The frozen turkey comes with giblets and neck.

Finn's Ranch is offering heritage breed turkeys, known for their exceptional flavor and tenderness. Raised organically on pastures, they offer a delicious and sustainable centerpiece for your holiday feast.

Additional Information:
The deposit of $35 of this order will be deducted from the total cost of the bird, one deposit per bird is required. You will get an invoice for the deposit and the final cost of your bird via email.
Pick up/ Delivery Info:
Frozen turkeys can be picked up, free of charge at GCM Lincoln Park or GCM West Loop on either Saturday, November 16 or Saturday, November 23.
Home deliveries are available and cost $15 (spend $200 or more for free delivery!). For home deliveries, please have a cooler outside your house on delivery day.

Jake's Country Meats

To reserve, a $40 deposit per bird is required (the deposit is subtracted from the final amount based on your turkey's weight at $7 per pound). For turkey pre-orders, the team asks that you enter your credit card information and pay online to help ensure a smooth transaction process.
The turkeys are delivered frozen to lock-in freshness, so be sure to plan enough time for thawing. The general rule is 1 day for every 4-5 pounds.
Please note, the date and time displayed at check-out may not be correct. You will receive a reminder email in November with specific dates and times.
When do orders need to be placed by?
Jake’s will take orders until they sell out, but be sure to order today to ensure they don't sell out of your preferred option.
Product descriptions:
Jake's Country Meats' turkeys are Broad Breasted Bronze, raised with care, spending their days outside on pasture, soaking up the sun, and foraging as they please. These birds are raised to the same standards as all of the farm's animals.
When choosing your turkey, keep in mind that 1-1.5 pounds per person usually does the trick, maybe with a little extra for those beloved leftovers. Visit Jake's website for help in picking the right size.
Pick-up/delivery information
Turkeys will be available for pick-up from 8 a.m.- 9 a.m. at GCM Lincoln Park on Saturday, November 23.
For home delivery, turkeys will be shipped on Monday, November 18.
In the spirit of the giving season, Jake's Country Meats is also offering the option to donate a turkey to a family in need, in which they will split the cost of an average sized turkey and donate it right before the holidays. More details can be found here.
Mint Creek Farm
How can orders be placed?
Orders can be placed online here! To reserve, a $25 deposit per bird is required (the deposit is subtracted from the total when you get your bird(s)).

Mint Creek Farm is offering Black Spanish Aztec and cross-breed Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys for pre-order this fall season! The birds are all pasture-raised at the organic farm located just southwest of Chicago in Cabery, Illinois.

Pick-up information
Frozen turkey pick-ups will be available for pick-up at GCM Lincoln Park on Saturday, November 23 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., but you can also request early pickup or home delivery of frozen birds starting in early November.
