Green City Market (GCM) has opened ticket sales for their 2024 Peak Season Celebration in partnership with Ritual Zero Proof. The nonprofit organization behind Chicago’s flagship sustainable farmers’ markets will host a four-course farm-to-table dinner in scenic St. Joseph, Michigan at Mick Klüg Farms, one of GCM’s original vendors.
GCM’s Peak Season Celebration has been a highly sought-after farm-to-table event experience in southwestern Michigan since 2018. This year’s special evening celebrates the best of the Midwest’s summer flavors, featuring a four-course farm-to-table meal prepared by GCM’s culinary partners and talented chefs including Joe Frillman and Leigh Omilinsky of Daisies, Lee Wolen of BOKA, and John Shields of Smyth and The Loyalist. Beverages, including beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic cocktails are included, courtesy of presenting sponsor Ritual Zero Proof as well as Middle Brow, Saugatuck Brewing Company, Journeyman Distillery, and Appel’s Cordials.
“Our Peak Season dinner is an unforgettable experience,” says GCM Executive Director Mandy Moody. “Each bite is bursting with celebration for our farmers’ bounty. It’s a delicious expression of the artistry infused in Chicago’s culinary industry and especially the focus our chefs invest into local ingredients and the Green City farmers who grow them.”
For Bae Schilling, an owner of Mick Klüg Farms, “Peak Season Celebration is such a memorable event! It brings farmers, chefs, brewers, vintners, mixologists and the community together to appreciate local fare and incredible creativity. It also provides support for GCM’s nonprofit programs. As committed GCM vendors, we are so excited to be hosting once again.”
The event will run from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a cocktail hour including passed appetizers and an optional farm tour before sitting down for a meal in the farm’s picturesque orchards.
The dinner will feature an appetizer, main entrée, and dessert with products sourced directly from Mick Klüg Farms and other Green City Market vendors. A bus is available as an add-on purchase to provide transportation to and from St. Joseph, Michigan on the day of the event. Space is limited. For parties interested in making Peak Season a weekend trip, ten rooms will be available for guests at The Boulevard Inn in St. Joseph, Michigan at a discounted rate. Guests can book directly with the hotel for a minimum two-night stay required.
