Adam Peterson (he/him)

Chicago Good Food Purchasing Program Manager, Chicago Food Policy Action Council

Adam grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in Cultural Anthropology, he found his way onto a farm in the Driftless region of Wisconsin, starting a near decade long period of diverse fruit and vegetable production on farms in the Midwest. Adam also spent several years working with Nichols Farm and Orchard on the farm and you can still find him working markets on some Saturdays in Lincoln Park.

Currently, Adam works in the Mayor's Office on food equity, as a part of the Chicago Food Policy Action Council. His focus is on shifting institutional meal program spending towards more values-aligned purchases as well as increasing food diversion and food waste programs at the city level. He's excited to join the Associate Board and support the market's food access programs, farmers and food businesses.

When he’s not doing food related things you'll find him biking across the city, dancing at concerts, enjoying the company of others’ dogs, and wishing he lived closer to the lake.
