Bio
Originally from Florida, Angel moved to Chicago in 2018 to study Economics and Psychology at the University of Chicago, the start of a path that has carried him across an unusually broad set of worlds. He began his career in banking before enrolling at Kendall College and cooking in some of the city's best kitchens, including Rose Mary and Boka. Lately, he's done a transition back to the corporate world, but hopes to remain in touch with food through GCM. Today he serves as Chief Marketing Officer of an international language education company.
It was during his years in professional kitchens that Angel fell in love with the produce coming out of Green City Market, and he has relied on GCM as his primary source ever since. He hopes to bring both his culinary background and his marketing expertise to the Associate Board — helping attract new shoppers and supporters while championing the market and the farmers behind it. He is looking to spread the joy he's found himself through the market!
In his free time, you'll find Angel trying new restaurants around the city with his wife, golfing with friends, or training for his next marathon. He loves being active outdoors and is always looking for an excuse to settle onto a bench with a good book.
