Jessica Chabot (she/her)
Interconnection Project Manager, New Leaf Energy, Inc.
Bio
Jessica is an Interconnection Project Manager for a renewable energy development company. She has a passion for sustainability and mitigating the effects of climate change. The interconnection stage of renewable energy development is the biggest bottleneck to getting more renewable energy onto the Grid, and she enjoys making an impact towards reducing fossil fuels in the work she does every day. She worked as an operations consultant in the utilities industry for 4 years before deciding she wanted to pivot into a career where she could make an impact.
She decided to go back to school and got her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with a concentration on Sustainability and Renewable Energy. While there, she was a part of the Board Fellows program where she was matched with Green City Market. She spent 2 years working with the board to work on the board governance structure. After graduating and starting her full-time job in Chicago, she continued to stay involved in Green City Market and was excited to have the opportunity to join the board in January. She is excited to stay involved in the Governance Committee to continue her work on establishing a process for board engagement, board training, and board recruitment.
